Day 7: Who supports you the most with your pole...
I’ve always felt that I’ve had a lot of inner strength and confidence; but with every improvement I’ve made I honestly think it’s because of the girls at my studio that I keep going. They’re my support team, my cheerleaders, and my coaches. They provide me with a fresh set of eyes and a double spot when I need it. I wish I could thank every single one of them without...

Day 6: To you, what’s the hardest thing about pole...
I think for most people, it’s overcoming stigma — being open and honest about your own sensuality and how that is perceived by others. I think sensuality, and having it in your dance is a powerful thing to both know and feel. Pole is a wonderful outlet that allows you to be unapologetic about being sexy. At it’s very core, it’s being comfortable with yourself and the movements...

llneo asked: First of all, wow! Your progress and just general awesomeness on the pole is inspiring! Secondly, the way you got into the remi sit from a low sit in your last video at around 2:58, absolutely baffles me, is there any way you could explain how you did it? I've tried pausing to figure it out but you move too fast! :p

Day 2: Why did you continue to pole dance?
I started getting serious about pole dancing after about a month’s worth of classes. Initially I enjoyed the challenge, and as a former athlete, the burn. I also really enjoy anything that gets my adrenaline pumping; so the spinning, dropping and hanging upside down 10 feet from the floor were definitely an added bonus. I like to think that I’ve moved past the “pure...

Day 1: When did you start pole and why?
I started pole dance September 23rd, 2011 at The Secret Pole Dance studio in Los Angeles. Originally I had bought a set of 4 intro classes with one of my friends at university because we figured it’d be a fun thing to do and doubly fun if we did it together. I had a small history in gymnastics and various kinds of dance (salsa, hip-hop, world/lyrical) and figured it be a good way to blow off...

30 Day Pole Dance/Fitness Challenge!
When did you start pole and why?
Why did you continue to pole dance?
What is the ultimate pole trick or move you’d like to be able to accomplish (Spatchcock, Oona Splits, etc)?
Tell us about the biggest or best performance (recital, competition, freestyle, practice vid) you’ve ever done. Post it if it’s a video.
If you could only dance to one song for a day (on repeat), what...

"Tango" Drop
While shadowing Kitty today, I learned a “tango drop” which is broken down into: spinning reverse (like the lead-in to a back hook) and holding the pole with your left forearm, dropping backwards and then bringing it back up and swiveling the right foot to continue walking around the pole
